What Our Services Cost

We are a fee-only registered investment advisor which means we charge an investment advisory fee based on a percentage of your assets under our management. As fee-only fiduciaries, we are not compensated by any investment product sponsors, rather, our desire is to grow your assets in a way that is always aligned with your best interests. Our advice is unbiased – we do not sell insurance products or any financial products and we do not accept any form of commissions as compensation.

We charge a flat fee for the initial financial plan. It varies based on the complexity of your plan, but it is straightforward and spelled out in advance. As an investment advisory client you do not have to pay for ongoing and regular updates to your financial plan – it is part of the advisory services we provide.

In general, we have new client relationships starting at a minimum of $2 million in investable assets.  The relationship minimum, however, may be subject to waiver or negotiation.

We consider ourselves stewards of the wealth that you’ve built, helping you to protect it and continuing to grow it. Whether you’re approaching retirement, already retired, a corporate executive, small business owner, or have recently been divorced or widowed, we’d welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

The Process

1. Discovery Phone Call

The discovery phone call is a casual, candid, and confidential conversation to learn about who you are and why you are seeking financial consulting. We answer any questions you have about us and our process and together we’ll determine if we are a good fit for each other. We know your time is valuable, so we try to keep this initial call to 30 – 45 minutes.

2. Discovery Meeting

The in-person discovery meeting takes place at our offices and lasts about 90 minutes where we’ll explore your goals, needs, and expectations. Once we start to learn about who you are, where you’d like to be and what’s most important to you, we’ll begin assembling all of that input into a plan for you.  We collaborate with you to consider your values, tax and estate planning, liquidity needs, and your unique risk tolerance to develop a comprehensive plan that will help you navigate the next chapters of your life.

3. Financial Planning

Our Financial Planning process consists of evaluating and integrating all aspects of your financial life into a single plan tailored to your individual goals and objectives. The plan provides a concise and quantitative framework to help you achieve financial security. All of this is done to help you identify and accomplish what is most important to you and your family. Ultimately, the plan is a guide to help you live the life you want now, and in the future, and will adapt with you during your life’s many changes.

4. Investment Plan

Based on your personalized plan, we then develop an investment plan that will identify the best investment strategy to achieve your goals. This consists of developing an Investment Policy Statement that serves as a roadmap describing how your investments will be handled in a coordinated fashion and in line with your overall financial planning needs. Your Investment Policy Statement is composed in a manner that aligns your unique risk tolerance and investment constraints with a targeted rate of return constructed to meet your near and long-term goals.

5. Investment Management

Our ongoing investment management services build upon the conclusions reached in your financial plan and are driven by your Investment Policy Statement guidelines. Our investment management core competency is to construct institutional-quality, broadly diversified portfolios that minimize risk, fees, and taxes to the level necessary to achieve your unique long-term targeted rate of return. You will benefit from our focus on low cost, tax-efficient and globally-diversified investment portfolios.

6. Monitor – Regular Reviews

The apex of this process is close and regular contact with you to assess your changing needs, review our strategies for reaching your financial goals, and gauging your investment performance relative to your custom targeted rate of return. You can count on us for continuous evaluation of your overall plan and investment strategies along with making adjustments as your life unfolds. We provide a continuum of support and advice to you and your family, for generations to come.
